textual analysis B&S magazine

Image: The shot in the front cover is a mid-shot this will show some part of the of the cover star in a little more detail than a head shot , the mid-shot would make the audience feel as though they are looking at the whole subject on the front cover
the colour scheme of the magazine is yellow , red and black
The yellow in the magazine is a bright colour so this will make the magazine stand out and the colour connotes something new and fresh therefore this will suggest to the audience that the magazine is something new.
The red just as the yellow is a bright colour and will stands out to the audience but also the colour red including black signifies power and the cover artist is mainly wearing this colour and the colour is in the magazine logo . this is representing  a persona of the magazine to the audience .

On the front cover , the cover star is wearing a heavy chain and sunglasses and watches and rings, this is suggesting that the cover star is represent his wealth and trendiness because of the snapback and the way it's been wore,  the audience this could be effective because this could bring in a lot of different types of audiences for the magazine because of the way he's dressed could be really appealing especially to a young and more "trendy" audience .

"Revealing nature" is in bright and eye catching font , this would appeal to the members of the audience because , it instantly brings the audience in because it's an interesting cover lines and it makes people curious to see what's underneath this nature.
On the front cover the cover lines are minimal but things such as puff and the skyline including the cover lines that do appear onthe front cover give the audience a teaser of what to expect in the magazine .
Thefront cover reflects the genre by using the cover star by the way he dresses and the way he is presenting himself to the camera with a cool persona .
the contents page layout isn't spread out , this contents page is laid out with structure , this can be effective to the audience because it makes many things easier to find information , the editor is addressing the audience this will make the audience feel  apart of this magazine and feel like the magazine is aimed at only them.
The pages are listed and all the key point of information that the editor deficiently wants the audience to read are in bold , the bold font will signifity the importance of that article to the magazine. the language on the contents page isn't as informal as the front cover for example the readers are formally address by the editor . the pages aren't informally addressed and the contents page contains the people who toke part of the magazine , so therefore they can get recognition for the production.
The overall construction of the contents page has some sort of sophistication to the contents compared to any other magazine.
The style of the DPS isn't in a interview style so therefore the artist is reflecting an giving an account of his music and what his music means to him. Therefore the cover artist becomes his own journalist, so the language of dps will not going  be formal . The image of the cover star on the dps is slightly in the middle and its a mid spot , this will make the cover star stand out instantly and have more focus on the artist.
The little quotes on the dps are effective because it gives the audience a sample of what's happening in the text before the audience actually read the text and with the text " prepare the throne"and the word throne is put above his head , this might have been planned by the editor to present a new uprising to link to the text , this could be another indicator to the text to the award , the title introduces the audience to the text and what the point of the text is .
